Sorry I didn't post the fics on Monday as I promised, but I had college apps due that night, so I, the horrible procrastinator that I am, was rushing around, getting everything finished, and giving my mother a mild aneurysm in the process. I ended up getting everything submitted five minutes before midnight.
Today, I've been distracted by this:
That picture's completely un-photoshopped, except for the frame, of course.
So, needless to say, the beach and all it has to offer has been diverting me from my modly duties. :-D
I have my laptop with me, though, so I plan to post all of the New Year's fics tonight, along with sign-ups for the Valentine's Day exchange. After putting up the poll in my journal and reading all of the comments on it, I've decided to use the "request a fic, write a fic"
policy for the V-Day exchange. I had a great deal of trouble with getting people to claim fic requests (more so at rwhgficexchange
than this comm), and it got to a point where I decided that we needed to try something different.
This is the format generally used by most exchange comms, and it seems to work just fine. Besides, anyone who doesn't sign up in time to participate can also be placed on the back-up writer list, if they'd still like to contribute something. How permanent this policy will be shall be determined by the success of the upcoming exchange.
If you'd like to vote in the poll over the new policy, this is your last chance to do so. I won't be posting sign-ups for at least another few hours, so VOTE HERE
while you can, and if you haven't already. Comments are also appreciated, as I could definitely use feedback.
Other than that, thank you all so, so much for being so cooperative! Only one person didn't submit anything, and she/he hasn't posted in her/his livejournal for about two weeks now. We had a modest turn-out, but just about everyone came through, on time and with their fics and beta confirmations. Hopefully we can keep up the good track record this year! I'm looking forward to it. ;-)
